Summer Hiatus
June 21, 2013
Due largely to the legendary Georgia heat and humidity, I've decided to take a break from photoshoots for the summer. I'll be back this fall with improved website design and functionality and hopefully a better knowledge of my fancy new camera.
Scowl for the Camera
Worn: June 10, 2013
I'm very pleased with the picture quality produced by my new Canon EOS Rebel T4i. But I'm less pleased with my ability to take pictures with it. Twice I've found the battery completely drained when I went to take pictures. Lynn hadn't turned the power off the previous time she used it and I hadn't checked behind her. There is, I've discovered, an automatic shut off timer, but unlike on all of my low end cameras, it is not enabled by default.
I have a tripod and a remote control for the camera, which I've been able to avoid using thanks to Lynn and Rebecca's help. But I don't always have a friend available when I want to take pictures, so today I'm finally testing the remote. It doesn't work very well. I have to press the trigger several times for every time the camera actually shoots. So while I may start a pose with a pleasant expression, by the time it is recorded, I frequently slip into a scowl.

Sometimes, I don't discover the problems with a pair of shoes until I've worn them a couple of days. For instance, the heels on my new red pumps are pointed enough to sink over an inch into soft mud with every step.
My purchase of this top was heavily influenced by Kristina Bazan's use of a similar top here. I'm not sure which of the two I prefer. Peplum tops, like hers, are generally unflattering on me, but the dangly bits on mine present their own pains. Both are orangey reds, while I prefer more burgundy shades. And mine is really hard to button up the back.
